UPPER BODY ENDURANCE ASSESSMENT

Push-Up Test.

Assess upper-body muscular endurance through controlled push-up repetitions. Record valid repetitions using a clearly defined technique and repeat the same protocol to build a reliable strength-endurance baseline.

Test Protocol

Standardised push-up muscular-endurance procedure

The Push-Up Test assesses upper-body muscular endurance using repeated controlled push-ups. The exact technique should be defined before testing and kept identical between athletes and future retests. EVOLVE records only repetitions that meet the selected technique standard.

01
Warm UpComplete light upper-body movement, shoulder mobility and several submaximal repetitions before the maximal test.
02
Set the PositionBegin in a stable high-plank position with hands placed consistently, body aligned and feet positioned according to the selected protocol.
03
Lower Under ControlLower the body while maintaining alignment. Use the selected depth standard, such as a consistent elbow angle or chest target.
04
Press to Full PositionPress back to the defined starting position while maintaining a controlled body line. Each repetition must meet the complete range-of-motion standard.
05
Continue Until FailureContinue only while repetitions remain technically valid. Stop when the athlete cannot complete another valid repetition or reaches the selected time limit.
06
Record Valid RepetitionsRecord the total number of valid repetitions completed. Do not count incomplete or technically invalid repetitions.
EVOLVE Scoring Method

The primary result is the number of valid push-ups completed under the selected protocol. EVOLVE can also display average repetitions across repeated trials and the consistency spread. For longitudinal tracking, the same technique, depth, cadence and time limit should be maintained.

How to Record the Result

Enter only repetitions that meet the selected range-of-motion and technique standard. Do not add partial repetitions. If a trial stops because technique breaks down, record the valid repetitions completed before the breakdown.

Your result will appear here after completing the test.

Important: Push-up scores depend on technique, range of motion, cadence, body position and test duration. Compare results using the same protocol.
