UPPER BODY PULLING ASSESSMENT

Pull-Up Test.

Assess upper-body pulling strength and muscular endurance through controlled pull-up repetitions. Record valid repetitions using a clearly defined technique and repeat the same protocol to build a reliable pulling-performance baseline.

Test Protocol

Overhand / Pronatedised pull-up strength-endurance procedure

The Pull-Up Test assesses upper-body muscular endurance using repeated controlled pull-ups. The exact technique should be defined before testing and kept identical between athletes and future retests. EVOLVE records only repetitions that meet the selected technique standard.

01
Warm UpComplete shoulder, elbow and upper-back mobility, scapular activation and several submaximal pulling repetitions before the maximal test.
02
Set the GripUse the selected grip on a secure pull-up bar. Start from a controlled hanging position with the body stable.
03
Start From Full ExtensionBegin each repetition from the defined starting position with controlled elbow extension and no excessive swinging.
04
Pull to the TargetPull the body upward until the selected top-position standard is achieved, such as the chin clearly clearing the bar.
05
Return Under ControlLower back to the defined starting position. Avoid kipping, kicking or partial repetitions unless the selected protocol specifically permits them.
06
Record Valid RepetitionsContinue until another technically valid repetition cannot be completed or the selected time limit is reached. Count only complete repetitions.
EVOLVE Scoring Method

The primary result is the number of valid pull-ups completed under the selected protocol. EVOLVE can also display average repetitions across repeated trials and the consistency spread. For longitudinal tracking, the same technique, depth, cadence and time limit should be maintained.

How to Record the Result

Enter only repetitions that meet the selected range-of-motion and technique standard. Do not add partial repetitions. If a trial stops because technique breaks down, record the valid repetitions completed before the breakdown.

Your result will appear here after completing the test.

Important: Pull-up scores depend on technique, range of motion, cadence, body position and test duration. Compare results using the same protocol.
